Meet with me

What brings you joy?

Black people. Being underwater. Singing and dancing. My Elevated Ancestors and Descendants. Real Love. Homemade strawberry shortcake. Creative visioning. Elders-in-action. Little ones/children. Learning and teaching. Writing speculative fiction.

What is your vision for your role at BLOC?

My vision is to build a strong and solid understanding of NCBLOC’s ecosystem and to build with those within it who are dedicated to the fullest sense of Black Liberation that we can dream and make real, together.

What does freedom mean to you?

I think of Freedom as less an individual thing to define, and more as a necessarily collective thing to define. What does Freedom look like to you, if we really believe all our people deserve it, and not just some? What does Freedom look like to you, if we know that being forced into any box—a jail or prison cell, someone else’s idea of who we ought to be, the gender and sex binary, a relationship that doesn’t serve us, a job that doesn’t value what we bring—is violent, harmful, and unnecessary? I am here to support broad and bold collective visions and dreams of Black Freedom.

Call me if you need...
