Malcolm X Liberation University is a  series of skill-building training for individuals and organizations who are working to shift the conditions for Black, poor, and working-class communities by building collectively with, and alongside community members. 

 

These training spaces center Black, poor, and working-class people and are open for all to attend. If the space does reach capacity we will prioritize Black, POC, and grassroots community organizers.

Who is this for? 

These events are open to  BLOC Members, Partners, community members, leaders, and individuals who are committed to their development. 

 

What is the time & length of this event?  

These events take place over 2 days on weekends. You can check out all the dates by CLICKING HERE.

On Saturdays, we will gather from 10 am - 4 pm, with an optional dinner taking place from 5- 6:30 pm.

On Sundays, we will gather from 12- 3 pm for virtual training led by a partner. Members, and other community-centered organizations.

What is the cost?

 Sliding scale beginning at $5.

What is included in registration? 

Meals, materials, childcare and transportation support for folks who need it. 

Are there scholarships available?

 Yes! If you need a scholarship or you are a working-class person who would like to attend but that also means missing work or pay, please apply for a scholarship by CLICKING HERE  

Is this event in person?

This event is hybrid. Saturday is in person in Winston. The Sunday training is virtual.  

Sundays virtual training will be recorded and provided to participants via a secure private portal. 

 

Do we have covid protocols? 

Yes we do, we try our best to establish a safe space for high risk folks to join our spaces. We provide a covid testing and require masks in shared spaces. We will try to have accessible eating locations.

  • Solidify Statewide demands and local priorities.   
  • Provide political education & pieces of training on various topics related to 2024 and civic engagement .
