Our need for support is urgent.
 In 2026, we are facing a sharper rise in authoritarianism and coordinated efforts that threaten our freedoms, limit democratic participation, and deepen economic and social inequities. These forces are directly impacting Black, poor, and working-class communities - making it harder to access resources, exercise our rights, and shape the conditions we live in.

Building off the collective work and relationships we have cultivated over the past ten years, NC BLOC and it 50+ member organizations & collectives are in the midst of Protect Black Freedoms, a two-year period of practice and action (2025-2027) designed to test our ability to build alternative systems and cultivate a mass movement capable of transforming the social, political, cultural, and economic conditions of our communities.
